The essence of CET has always been “Giving Our All”. This embodies the group’s commitment to exceeding expectations and leveraging our experience and expertise to become a trusted partner.
In a world that isn’t always predictable, CET provides both agility and reliability; delivering peace of mind for customers across all business units.
Our commitment to thought-leadership, innovation and quality is a driving force behind the continued growth of the organisation. This commitment has seen CET successfully complete several business acquisitions in recent years.
The expansion is backed by private equity firm Dunedin, who provide both the finance and management experience necessary to realise our vision.
In May 2016, CET purchased Omega Calibration Laboratories, a Midlands-based, independent calibration laboratory providing a comprehensive range of on-site and in-lab metrology calibration and repair services.
Over the past 18 months, the calibration business has been transformed with investments in an expanded service portfolio, enhanced accreditations and an innovative job management system. The new system builds upon CETs legacy of technological innovation to deliver significant improvements in process efficiency, job tracking and customer engagement.
Process improvements have been further supported by investments across the business. In just over a year, Omega Calibration introduced a new apprentice scheme, branched out into bespoke gauge manufacture, expanded its free delivery and collection service, doubled its scale, tension and compression capacity, signed a new supply agreement with Mitutoyo and received alpha standard accreditation for health and safety from Alcumus Safe Contractor.
The introduction of a standard five-day SLA and an expansion of UKAS accreditation across a range of metrology calibration services are the latest in a series of positive results for the business.
Peter Eglinton, CET Chief Executive explains the decision to rebrand as CET Calibration. “Omega Calibrations is a long-established business and we have been working closely with the team to introduce a range of service and process improvements since the acquisition resulting in, for example, market leading turnaround times being achieved as standard. The business is better positioned than ever to provide a quality service to the UK’s engineering and manufacturing base”
Peter continues “We now share a common technology platform and the calibration team have demonstrated that they truly understand the mantra of ‘Giving Our All’. They’ve become a part of the CET family and it just felt like the right time to recognise that publicly”.
